Champions of Ildur
Lord Corin Elix was the former ruler of Marakesh, until Carrinor and his grassroots military force staged a coup for the throne five years ago.
While most of the rulers of Marakesh have been thought of as wise and just, Elix was particularly so. Under his guidance, new and valuable trade routes opened themselves to Marakesh from surrounding kingdoms, and an explosion of cultural growth occurred within its boundaries. Historically, the number of Aasimar born during the rule of a Lord is taken to be a sign of that ruler’s success, and to that degree, Elix’s rule was unparalleled since time immemorial.
Unfortunately, Elix was killed in Carrinor’s initial seizure of the throne. A battle during which it is said that Elix in his extreme peacefulness simply sat and meditated on the throne while combat raged around him. When the Emporer’s guard was finally overwhelmed, and Carrinor put his blade to the throat of his enemy, Elix simply stared to the center of the throne room at the statue of Iomedae, the goddess of valor and honor, and whispered her name. Carrinor then slit his throat, and the coup was completed.
